The Closet is opening a beautiful new flagship store in the heart of the downtown shopping district, right on State Street across from Blue Bee.  Our new space will be bigger (more inventory to choose from!), we will buy and trade all day everyday (no more special buying hours!) and we will even offer curbside pick-up (no more lugging stuff from your car!).  Also, get excited for longer hours, 10am-8pm every single day, so you can shop, trade, and sell whenever you darn well feel like it!

The new store, located at 920 State Street between Carillo and Canon Perdido, will open at 10am on March 1st, 2010.  The current SB store will remain open through February - see ya there!

Out of the Closet: In equally fabulous news, as of March 1, consignment clothier The Closet is moving to State Street proper. Lest you worry such a move might sacrifice some of its impossible-to-find cachet (and, speaking of: The current spot in Victoria Court will remain open through the end of February), I think the perks more than make up for it: The new digs, at 920 State—between the Apple store and Borders Books—are bigger, more accessible, and will feature all-day buying, trading, and consigning (no more appointments), as well as extended hours (10am-8pm). And get this: They’re going to offer curbside consignment service, too—just pull up, and they’ll deal with all that tiresome … carrying. All the shopping, none of the exercise! What will they think of next?

“…I came across a commercial for another buy-sell-trade company called The Closet. It just so happens it is only 15 min away from my house! I wasn’t expecting much, but as soon as I walked in I already found things I would buy. Mind you I live in a town where True Religion Brand jeans and a sparkly top are the hottest thing around, so to my surprise there was more to this little resale boutique. Not only did I find $70 Frye mint condition boots (that I had to squeezzeeee my lil foot into) I found a silk leopard dress (totally not into leopard but for some reason this dress was perfect to me) I also picked up a pair of classic ray ban ish knockoffs. I am such a happy camper with all of my purchases!! The owner is named Johanna and she was the nicest girl ever! She even owns the one in Santa Barbara on State Street!”
