‘Girls’ Fashion
January 10, 2013 | 1 CommentIf you are like us, you are obsessed with HBO’s hit show ‘Girls’. The show is a witty look at what is live is like for 20 somethings trying/ being forced to grow up. We are fans of the show but above all we are fans of the fashion. Like Sex and The City, each ‘Girl’ has a fully developed sense of style. Unlike Sex and the City, their fashion is accessible (think $100 Anthropologie dresses instead of $5,000 Dior skirts.) To tide us over until Sunday, when the second season begins, we have decided to put together a look inspired by each girl. Let us know in the comments whose style you identify with most.
Jessa
Jessa’s sense of style is the best because she just wears whatever she wants and no matter how crazy it is she makes it work. Jessa would definitely stock her closet with loads of vintage pieces, Free People and Winter Kate. We love how she mixes funky vintage pieces with higher-end contemporary pieces. We would dress her in these tapered knit pants by Suno and pair it with this vintage inspired sheer and beaded top by Of Two Minds. To top it off we would give her these Jimmy Choo stilettos.
Hannah
Hannah’s sense of style is probably the most relate-able. She wears flattering skirts, jeans & t-shirts and comfortable dresses but keeps it fashionable by always incorporating a bold print and funky jewelry (think peter pan collar). Her closet would be filled with Anthropologie brands, Marc Jacobs, J Brand jeans and Jeffrey Campbell shoes. We would style her in the mustard Rag & Bone textured top, an Edme & Esyllte printed skirt and vintage brown belt. Hannah loves flats and clogs so we would top this outfit off with these textured Elizabeth & James flats.
Marni
Marni has a very classic style. She loves wearing A-Line dresses with tame patterns and classic jewelry. Her closet would be packed with a TON of J. Crew, Banana Republic and Diane Von Furstenberg. We would style Marni in this silk A-Line dress with a blue pattern and we’d pair it with this tan trench from Rachel Zoe. Marni would absolutely love these the Badgley Mischka peep toe pumps, the are classy with just the right amount of flare.
Shoshanna
Shoshanna is the funniest character! Fans of the show surely have cracked up at her numerous times, especially when she looses her sequin skirt in Bushwick. Her style changes from scene to scene through out the show. She wears everything from a pink velour track suit to a peace sign snuggie to a white lace strapless dress (to a secret wedding… gasp!). So if we had to pin down her style we would say it is very girly with a classic twist. She is almost always wearing something glitzy but she always pairs it with a solid top or a pea coat. Her closet is probably stuffed with Juicy Couture, Rory Beca and Nanette Lepore. We would style Shoshanna in this navy Single dress, the classic cut dress is adornded with lace and a beaded waist, making it a perfect example of classic with a twist. We would top it off with these nude mary jane peep toes by Jimmy Choo.

I Love Jessa’s style but I don’t know if I could pull it off! I love Hannah’s outfit here!
