Shipping Time

Orders selected for next-day shipping that are placed before 2pm PST will ship the same day. If you select next day on a Friday, please be advised that your package will not be delivered until Monday. Our goal is to process and ship your order within 2-5 business days of receipt. A tracking number will be emailed to you when your order ships. This tracking number will allow you to check on the delivery status of your order.

Undelivered Packages

We are not able to reship packages that are returned to us by the carrier. All undelivered packages will be processed as a return. Please take this into consideration when selecting your shipping address for an order.

Quantity limits may apply in some states. Your order may be reduced or held to comply with state restrictions.

 Our shipping days are Monday - Wednesday & Friday. Our goal is to ship packages within 2-5 days of your order and do our best to get orders placed before 4pm on the noted days on the same day. If there is a special rush please indicate that in the comments section on your order page. 

The Closet Shipping and Tax

The following shipping and tax policies apply to domestic shipments only. We are not able to ship internationally at this time.

Sales Tax

The sales tax quoted at time of checkout is only an estimate. The final total sales tax will be reflected on your invoice and will include state and local taxes, as well as any applicable rebates or fees.

The Closet is currently obligated to collect sales tax in California.

No sales tax is charged when purchasing e-gift cards; however, purchases paid for with e-gift card credits may be subject to tax.

Important Sales Tax States other than California: The Closet Trading Company  is not obligated to, and does not, collect sales tax from states other than California. Your purchase is subject to your states sales tax unless it is specifically exempt from taxation. The purchase is not exempt merely because it is made over the Internet or by other remote means. Your state may require purchasers from your state to report all purchases that were not taxed and pay tax on those purchases. The tax may be reported and paid on the individual income tax return or by filing a consumer use tax return.

Taxes collected are collected on behalf of the seller of record.

Our return policy strives to be as flexible as possible for our customer while allowing us to provide instant insider access to top designer labels and coveted products at a significant discount. As a result, not every product can be returned or returned for cash. To make the process easier for our valued members, we've broken down the details on what exactly is returnable and when you can expect to receive cash back or theclosetsb.com credit. You can return the following items:

All sized items, which includes clothing, footwear, and belts unless the item is marked Final Sale or otherwise noted as non-returnable on the product page.

The following items are non-returnable:

All non-sized items, including handbags, hats, jewelry and more are not eligible for return. Exceptions may apply so please check the individual product page carefully.

Returns and Credits

Returnable items that are priced at $199.99 and under are eligible for a refund in the form of The Closet. For returnable items that are priced at $200 and above, we are offering two options for our members:

Receive The Closet Credit with no additional return charges.

Receive a refund back to the original form of payment minus a $9.95 restocking fee.

The Closet Credits may be used on TheClosetSB.com, but may not be used in The Closet store fronts. The Closet Credits may not be used to purchase Gift Cards.

If you request a refund to the original form of payment and had used The Closet Credits to purchase the item in question, the original The Closet  Credits will be reinstated to your store credit account on the site. Once you have selected to receive your return in The Closet Credits, you cannot transfer the amount onto any form of original payment for cash back.

If the credit card used in connection with the purchase is expired or invalid, the refund will transfer over to your new card if it is with the same bank. If this is not possible, we will issue a check to the billing address on the credit card. If any promotional discount was applied to the total at the time of purchase, you will be refunded the actual amount paid at the time of purchase for that item. If you want to return an item received as a gift, you must contact Customer Support and you will receive your refund in The Closet Credits.


Love your purchase but it doesn't fit? We're happy to exchange it for another size of the same product if we have it available in our inventory. However, given the nature of our website we often only have one of every item. To start an exchange, click here to send a message to customer service.

As part of the exchange, you will be asked to pay for the new item in full. You will be reimbursed to the original form of payment including the price of shipping when we receive your return.

Return or Exchange Eligibility Window

Eligible item(s) must be returned or exchanged within 14 days of the item shipped date or as otherwise stated on the item return policy. Returned items must be unused, unworn, unwashed and undamaged. Please return items in their original packaging, including: hangers, plastic wrap, hang tags on garments, shoeboxes, dust bags and gift boxes. Please note all return shipping costs are to be paid by the customer.
